- Do my files leave my device?
- No. Every tool runs inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are opened, processed and saved back to your device without being uploaded anywhere.
- Each page carries a security rule that your browser enforces: it may only talk to this site and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics. Your files are never sent to either. The How it works page shows how to check this yourself.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Every tool works without one. An IASoft account is only for IACloud, which keeps the files you choose (PDFs, pictures, recordings and videos) ready on all your devices. Nothing is sent to it unless you select Save to IACloud.
- IACloud is end-to-end encrypted: each file is locked on your device with a key only your devices have, and IASoft stores just the locked copy, with no way to open it. It’s free, with 240 MB per account, and the same account works across IASoft’s apps, such as Retro Metro.
- What do you collect?
- Only anonymous counts that help us improve the tools: that a tool was opened, that it processed some files, what kind of files they were (such as PDF), roughly how big (such as “1–10 MB”) and how long it took. Never a file, its name or what’s in it.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also counts visits and which pages people use. It is never sent your files. If you decline, nothing is loaded from Google and no cookie is set; you can change your mind under Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
- There are no ads. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we collect nothing at all and don’t ask.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Once you’ve used a tool, it’s saved on your device and works without a connection. You can also install the site as an app from your browser’s menu.
- Is it free?
- Yes. No ads, no file limits beyond what your device can handle, and no “upgrade to process more files”.
- Which browsers does it work in?
- Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers, phones and tablets.
