How to play
- Runners come in at the two inlets at the top and move down the diagram. Each is made of two or three segments in the colour of its bay, and every segment shows the bay’s letter.

- Switches are numbered 1 to 4. Each has two settings, and the route it’s set for is lit. A switch with a runner on it is locked and shows a padlock.
- Gates hold runners at their inlet when shut and let them go when open. A runner kept waiting more than 8 seconds is a strike, so a gate only buys time. A held runner goes the moment its gate opens, so don’t open both into the merge together.
- Score: a runner in its own bay is a point. A runner in the wrong bay, or in one that’s still closed, is a strike. Three strikes end the game, and two runners meeting end it at once.
- Bays: three are open at the start; a fourth opens at 10 sorted and a fifth at 25. Runners come faster and more often the longer you last.
- Keys: 1 to 4 flip the switches, Q and W work the gates, Space or S works both, P or Escape pauses. Touch: tap a switch or a gate. Gamepad: the d-pad moves the cursor, A works what it’s on, B works the nearest gate, Start pauses.
- Pause also happens when you leave the page. Your best is kept in this browser.

Questions
- What ends a game?
- Two runners touching end it at once, usually at the merge. Otherwise, three strikes: a runner in the wrong bay or a closed one, or a runner held at a gate for more than 8 seconds.
- Why won’t a switch flip?
- A switch with a runner on it, or just about to reach it, is locked and shows a padlock. Flip it once the runner has passed.
- Does it get harder?
- Yes. Runners come more often over the first four minutes, and from a minute and a half two can arrive almost together, one at each inlet. They also speed up a little with every two you sort.
- Can I play on a phone?
- Yes. Tap a switch or a gate on the diagram to work it. The page doesn’t scroll while your finger is on the board.
- Where is my best score kept?
- In this browser, on this device. Clearing the site’s data resets it. Nothing is sent anywhere.
