Convert images to JPG, PNG or WebP
Turn photos into JPG, PNG or WebP, one or many at once. It happens on your device: nothing is uploaded.
How to convert images
- Choose the pictures to convert, or drop them anywhere on this page.
- Pick the format you want.
- Select Convert, then download the results.
Your files stay on your device
This tool runs inside your browser: your photos are processed on your device and never uploaded. Your browser enforces which servers the page may talk to, and none of them is sent your files. Here's how you can check. Once you've used it, it works offline too.
Questions
- Which format should I choose?
- JPG for photos you’ll share or print: every app opens it. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency, since it never loses quality. WebP for the smallest files that still look good, for websites and messages.
- What happens to transparent areas in JPG?
- JPG can’t be transparent, so they become white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep them.
- Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?
- In Safari, yes: Apple’s systems can read HEIC, so Safari on a Mac, iPhone or iPad converts them to JPG here. Other browsers can’t open HEIC yet. On an iPhone, photos also turn into JPG when you share or email them.
- Why is WebP missing?
- Safari can open WebP pictures but can’t save them, so WebP only appears in browsers that can, such as Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
- Is anything else changed?
- Photos keep their size and are turned the right way up. Location, camera and date information isn’t carried over.
- Are my pictures uploaded?
- No. They are converted by your browser, on your device, and saved straight back to it.
