Crop and rotate photos

Trim, turn and straighten a photo. It happens on your device: nothing is uploaded.

How to crop and rotate images

  1. Choose a photo, or drop it anywhere on this page.
  2. Drag the corners and edges of the box to crop, pick a shape, and turn, flip or straighten the photo.
  3. Select Save photo, then download it.

Your files stay on your device

This tool runs inside your browser: your photos are processed on your device and never uploaded. Your browser enforces which servers the page may talk to, and none of them is sent your files. Here's how you can check. Once you've used it, it works offline too.

Questions

How do I straighten a tilted photo?
Move the Straighten slider until the horizon or a wall looks level; the grid in the crop box helps. The photo is trimmed a little so no blank corners show.
Can I crop to an exact shape?
Yes. Choose a shape such as square, 4:5 for Instagram or 16:9 for screens, and the box keeps it while you drag. Free lets you crop to any shape.
Can I use the keyboard?
Yes. Select the crop box, then use the arrow keys to move it, and Shift with the arrow keys to make it bigger or smaller. Hold Alt for larger steps.
Does it lower the quality?
The photo keeps its full resolution where it isn’t cropped, and is saved at high quality in its own format (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG). HEIC and other formats are saved as JPG.
Is the location and camera information kept?
No. The saved photo has no location, camera or date information.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It is cropped and turned by your browser, on your device, and saved straight back to it.
