Questions
- How much smaller will my PDF get?
- It depends on what’s inside. PDFs full of photos or scans often shrink by half or more. PDFs that are mostly text are usually small already and shrink a little. If we can’t make a file smaller, you get the original back, unchanged.
- Will it look worse?
- Best quality changes nothing you can see: it only packs the file more tightly. Recommended and Smallest file also make photos smaller, which is hard to notice on screen; text and drawings stay sharp at every level.
- Are my PDFs uploaded?
- No. They are compressed by your browser, on your device, and saved straight back to it.
- Can I compress password-protected PDFs?
- Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), compress it, then protect it again with Protect PDF.
