Edit a PDF’s title, author and other details
Change the title, author and other details a PDF carries, or remove them before you share it. It happens on your device: nothing is uploaded.

- Choose the PDF, or drop it anywhere on this page.
- Change the details you want, or select Remove all.
- Select Save changes, then download the PDF.
Your files stay on your device
This tool runs inside your browser: your PDF are processed on your device and never uploaded. Your browser enforces which servers the page may talk to, and none of them is sent your files. Here's how you can check. Once you've used it, it works offline too.
Questions
- What is PDF metadata?
- Details stored inside the file that most PDF apps show under Properties: a title, the author’s name, a subject, keywords, the app that made it, and when. A browser tab shows the title instead of the file name.
- Why remove it before sharing?
- The author field often holds your name or your company’s, and the app and dates say how and when the document was made. Remove all clears every one of them.
- Is my PDF uploaded?
- No. Your browser reads and changes it, on your device, and the new PDF is saved straight back to it.
