Split a PDF
Turn one PDF into several, or pull out just the pages you need. It happens on your device: nothing is uploaded.
How to split PDF
- Choose the PDF to split, or drop it anywhere on this page.
- Pick how to split it: every page, every few pages, ranges you type, or chosen pages into one PDF.
- Select Split PDF, then download the result. Several files come as one zip.
Your files stay on your device
This tool runs inside your browser: your PDFs are processed on your device and never uploaded. Your browser enforces which servers the page may talk to, and none of them is sent your files. Here's how you can check. Once you've used it, it works offline too.
Questions
- How do I write page ranges?
- Separate them with commas, such as 1-3, 5, 8-12. Each range becomes its own PDF. “8-” means page 8 to the end.
- Is my PDF uploaded?
- No. It is read and split by your browser, on your device, and the new PDFs are saved straight back to it.
- Why do I get a zip file?
- When a split makes several PDFs, they come as one zip so your browser doesn’t ask about each download. Your device can open it with a tap or double-click.
- What happens to bookmarks and forms?
- Each new PDF keeps its pages, the form fields on them, and the bookmarks and links that lead to them. A bookmark to a page in another part is left out. The accessibility tags of tagged PDFs are not carried over yet.
