Cut and trim video
Keep the part you want, or cut a part out. It happens on your device: nothing is uploaded.
Cutting a part out re-encodes the video, at high quality.

Your files stay on your device
This tool runs inside your browser: your video are processed on your device and never uploaded. Your browser enforces which servers the page may talk to, and none of them is sent your files. Here's how you can check. Once you've used it, it works offline too.
Questions
- Does trimming lower the quality?
- Not when you keep a stretch the quick way: the video is copied into the new file as it is, so nothing is lost, and it takes seconds even for a long video. Cutting a part out of the middle, or choosing Re-encode, re-encodes the video at high quality, which is very hard to tell from the original.
- Why might the start look wrong in an editing app?
- Video is stored in groups of frames that depend on one another, so a quick trim keeps the whole group around your start and marks the frames before it as hidden. Players and phones respect that and start exactly where you chose; a few editing apps show the hidden frames. If yours does, choose Re-encode.
- How do I remove a part from the middle?
- Select the part to remove, choose Cut the selection out, and save. Play around the cut first to check the join.
- Can I set the times exactly?
- Yes. Type the start and end as minutes and seconds (1:23.5) or just seconds (83.5), or play the video, pause it on the frame you want and select Start here or End here.
- What about MOV files from an iPhone?
- They come out as MP4, which holds the same video and plays everywhere. WebM videos stay WebM.
- Is my video uploaded?
- No. It is trimmed by your browser, on your device, and saved straight back to it.
